Greed In An Inference.
Tolstoy’s writing is good. Or at least the story “How Much Land Does a Man Need” is, thats all I’ve read of him.
But anyways, here is my inference:
“Six feet from his head to his toes was all the land he needed.”
Tolstoy is showing that out of all the efforts Pahom went through to get more than enough land never mattered. Greed killed Pahom, and his selfish efforts led him to an unknown six feet of land.
Yes, plain and simple. But has a good meaning.
Greed doesn’t get you many places. With Greed you begin to forget what’s important, and your life can become a sad waste.
Not to be continued.
